THE INTERN LIFE // AYLA VISURI
I am so excited to introduce to you all to Ayla Visuri, my newest intern! She will be with me this Spring semester from February to May and will be helping with all sewing aspects of Madalyn Joy Designs. It will be so incredibly helpful to have another set sewing hands around the studio! I am so grateful to have two amazing interns with me this semester. Claire Bromley will be continuing her business, social media, and event planning duties in addition to Ayla Visuri who will be helping with sewing projects and garment production.
Ayla and I met when were hanging out backstage at Milwaukee Fashion Week before the show. A few of us in the Milwaukee fashion circle had been following each other on Instagram but hadn't officially met so it was nice to finally put a face to a name or Instagram handle should I say!? Ayla explained that she was modeling for the show this year but was a fellow designer herself and was looking for an internship to complete during her final semester at Mount Mary. Of course I was excited by this opportunity since my growing brand always needs another set of hands and I was excited to have the chance to teach Ayla some of techniques of working with specialty fabrics such as lace and satin.
Today is Ayla's official first day here at Madalyn Joy Designs and I am SO excited to have her on board! We will be working on a multitude of projects from actual garment construction to hand sewing embellishments to garment maintenance to backstage at fashion shows and photo shoots in addition to learning about what it takes to run a small business. Hopefully I'll be able to share a bit of fashion knowledge and how it applies to daily life outside of the classroom!
Welcome to the Madalyn Joy Designs team, Ayla! We are so excited to have you on board!
