My bordeaux dreams have finally become a reality! This evening gown was such a fun project to work on, not only because it is the most magical color and fabric, but also because it was my bridesmaid dress for Anna and Andrew's wedding (good friends from high school) this past October.

They had a beautiful Pinterest country chic wedding and I mean that in the best possible way. Your jaw dropped when you walked into the reception space! The reception was held in a beautiful old barn with charming, twinkling lights strung across the rafters and white pumpkins and maroon mums filled the entire venue. Burlap and white, lacy details were used throughout the tables and flickering candles lined the walls to give the space a truly romantic feel. My favorite part, however, was the pie bar! Instead of having a traditional wedding cake, Anna and Andrew opted for a variety of pies, including pumpkin, berry, apple, and pecan, so the guests could try a couple of different flavors. Let's just say I tried almost every flavor. ;)

When I was thinking about styling this look for after the wedding, I really looked to Renoir's portraits of women for inspiration. I truly loved the French sun hats and black choker necklaces the women wore in Renoir's paintings and wanted to emulate that in my look. Ultimately, shoes were deemed unnecessary for a stroll on the beach so a sun hat and shoulder bag were the only accessories needed. I definitely am looking forward to finding more events to wear this dress for!
