Hello everyone + Happy Monday! I am so excited to be continuing this inspiring series called Monday Muse and to be featuring the stunning Samantha Krusic this week!
I just absolutely love the story of how Samantha and I first met back in September because it was so very serendipitous! I was looking for one more model very last minute for my Flora and Fauna F/W 2017 campaign photo shoot because the model I had originally booked ended up landing a job and had to move to Chicago ASAP. Like any good ole modern day love story, Samantha slid right into my Instagram DMs and literally saved the day. She said she would love to model for my designs and to let her know if she needed any models coming up! I asked if next weekend would be too soon and thankfully she was free and available! The campaign photos turned out better than I had hoped thanks to the fabulous Samantha swooping in and saving the day!
It has been such a pleasure getting to know Samantha and having her model for my designs in both photo shoots and fashion shows. She is currently living abroad in London for the semester and as much as we all miss her here, it has been so very fun to follow along on her journey!
Samantha, thank you for being such a beautiful person both inside and out. I absolutely love having you model for the brand and it is my honor to have you as a Madalyn Joy angel! Tell us a little bit about yourself!
I’m 21 years old and currently pursuing a degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I'm moving to the UK in a couple weeks to study at the University of Westminster in London, and cannot wait to experience and essentially dive right into the culture overseas. I would love to backpack Europe alone because it is then, separated from comfort, where I can truly find myself. If the future doesn’t hold a modeling career, I aspire to join the sales industry with an emphasis in pharmaceuticals. Aside from education, I enjoy fashion and currently hold a position with Free People as a stylist, which has allowed me to explore all different avenues of the fashion world and help empower other young women. Overall, I’d like to consider myself a confident, strong-spirited gal that strives pushing life to its limits.
How did you get into modeling?
When I was in high school I started doing runway shows and commercials for a local bridal store, then when I went onto college I continued doing smaller local shoots around the Madison area as well. I also have several friends that run their own photography businesses that would ask me to model and build their portfolios (where we eventually began to collaborate and build each others businesses). Around the end of my sophomore year, I began looking into agencies and now I’m currently signed with The Rock Agency.
What is your favorite part about modeling?
Aside from the typical being behind the camera standpoint, I absolutely love the people I’ve met in the industry. This career gives you the opportunity to meet some of the most inspiring, true individuals. Being able to network and grow off of each other is one of the greatest gifts that this industry can offer. I wouldn’t be where I am today if it weren’t for the fellow models, photographers, stylists etc that make this all possible and I hope to foster these relationships until the end!
What is your least favorite part about modeling?
Honestly I’d have to say my least favorite part about modeling is having to follow a strict form of lifestyle. I’m always kind of living life on the edge, going wherever it takes me, so it was hard for me to buckle down and change some aspects of my life.

What has been your favorite thing about modeling?
Thus far, my favorite shoot has been the Madalyn Joy Designs holiday shoot for several reasons. Not only is the collection AMAZING, but the holiday season is my favorite time of the year. Being able to dress in bomb designs with an awesome girl team for my favorite holiday was easily my favorite part.
Most beautiful + confident moment:
My most confident moments actually occur when shooting with a fun, upbeat photographer. I love when they keep the pace up and have fun with it, almost cheering you on from behind the lens. There’s just something about working with someone like that which makes me feel both beautiful and confident.
My muse + Inspiration:
Gisele Bundchen, entirely.
Not only has she been among the highest-paid models in the world or listed by Forbes most powerful woman, she is the definition of bombshell. I admire her confidence and drive behind years of being a Victoria's Secret Angel. But aside from all of that, she’s married to NFL superstar Tom Brady.. a supermodel and NFL quarterback- need I say more?

Fun Fact?
More of a weird fact, but my biggest fear is waterparks. You WILL NOT catch me in one, ever.
Look forward to in 2018?
I know I mentioned this a bit earlier, but Im most excited to be overseas and learning a whole new way of life. Through travel and exploration, I hope to genuinely grow and see the world from a fresh perspective. Also I would love to potentially land a European contract while I’m there.
Modeling Goals:
Just like most other models, its always been my dream to walk in the VS fashion show. But other than that, I just hope to grow and establish a presence in the industry and hopefully expand out of the midwest market one day.
