Sadly, today is Vanali's last day as an intern here at Madalyn Joy Designs! I am so sad to see her go but I know she is off to do amazing things. We both answered a couple questions below recapping our summer internship experience.

Thank you SO much, Vanali, for all of your hard work and help over the past couple of months. Thank you for all of your help and guidance, for telling me when my ideas are totally crazy, laughing when we need it most, and taking ice cream and coffee breaks for when we just can't sew anymore! I seriously could not have done it all without you!

Best wishes on your new adventures!

xoxo

What was your favorite part of the summer internship?

V: Unexpected adventures! I really enjoyed the Bucks opportunity, the Milwaukee Magazine photo shoot, our random trip to Joann's, and lunch with our good friend, Emma.

M: I really appreciates all of the extra help backstage at fashion shows, photo shoots, and construction of the new collection.

Β

What was your least favorite part of the summer internship?

V: The hurry up and wait nature of fashion shows

M: Having Vanali leave! :(

Favorite experience?

V: Sewing on the new sponsor patches for the Bucks!

M: The Milwaukee Magazine September issue photo shoot!

What was the most surprising aspect to you?

V: I was surprised by how quickly we completed some of the projects. Also, it was nice actually getting to know each other after not having any classes together and only seeing each other in the hallways at UW-Madison.

M: I was surprised by the similar finishing between our two different fashion worlds of sportswear and lingerie.

What did you learn the most?

V: Networking!!

M: Delegating tasks! It was exciting to let Vanali help work on new collection.

Β

What is one thing you will take with you?

V: All of the new people that I met and the relationships.

M: Balance! We would work really hard but also make time for breaks.

What’s next?

V: I'll be heading back to UW-Madison to finish up my degree and working on Senior Thesis. Then graduation in December and looking for full time job afterwards! (Madalyn Joy Designs is hiring! *cough cough*)

M: I'll be finishing up the new Flora and Fauna for Milwaukee Fashion Week, working on custom bridal designs, and starting the holiday collection with a mix of photo shoots, fashion shows, and fittings.
